Our Mission

To develop a workforce development program that will provide basic carpentry training services to young adults aged 18-25 in Leon County.

In the process, this will:

  • Teach Basic Carpentry Skills
  • Lead to Employment Opportunities
  • Assist With Re-Entry


Lead to a reduction in:

  • Crime
  • Violence
  • Recidivism
  • And Homelessness

Program Details:

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1 PM–4 PM
  • Duration: 6-weeks
  • Location: 1704 Joe Louis St.
  • Scholarships Provided By: Griffin Heights Neighborhood Association’s Community Engagement Fund
  • Lead Instructor: David Vanwilliams
  • The 12 students chosen to participate will earn money each week while they learn and graduate from this program with many employment opportunities.
